education & training
WACHA is committed to the highest standards of training to ensure that you receive everything you need to satisfy your electronic payment needs. We offer a variety of programs and formats, covering an array of topics and learning styles. Our CLASSROOM training provides face-to-face interaction between the participants and knowledgeable instructors. We also offer multiple options of online learning the foremost being our Webinar sessions. The scheduled WEBINARS are internet-based with telephone audio led by an instructor. These webinars are interactive events, where information can be obtained in shorter timeframes from the convenience of your workplace. WACHA records many of the webinars for those unable to attend at the scheduled time and those recordings are available from the WEBINAR LIBRARY to be viewed by the participants 24/7.
In addition WACHA offers CUSTOMIZED ON-SITE training along with a Payments University, Symposiums, an annual Electronic Payments Conference and events which focus on timely information.
WACHA requires that staff hold the AAP (Accredited ACH Professional) certification before conducting training classes to ensure that you are provided with the most accurate information possible. WACHA certification and training programs are a great compliment to your in-house training and career development programs.

WACHA, NACHA and other regional payments associations have a logo to identify high-quality payments-related educational offerings. The logo will assure that the educational courses, sessions and publications being offered are of the highest quality and designed to meet the needs of the participants in payment systems. Payments system participants should look for the logo as an assurance that the training or publication meets standards established by the Payments Leadership Forum Education Committee. resource.

and following through the entire processing cycle. Rules that apply to
these paper items, such as Regulation CC and Check Adjustments will be
emphasized. Finally, the latest initiatives and innovations in the check
industry as well as fraud activity that is taking place within this
payments system will be covered.

- Virtual Training
- WACHA’s LIVE WEBINAR TRAINING
- A fair substitute for face-to-face in-person training is WACHA’s popular web-based interactive real-time webinar training. What it lacks in some aspects, it more than makes up for in convenience and economy since there’s no limit to the number of individuals who can participate at any one time . . . and all from the comfort of your own offices. The pricing is based on the number of dial-up lines you request, not the number of individuals who will be participating. Theoretically, you could train your entire staff all for the price of one dial-up line! A wide variety of topics are offered in the form of real-time webinars.
- WACHA’s RECORDED WEBINAR LIBRARY
- What happens if you or the person who is slated to receive training isn’t available on the date the training is scheduled? No problem. Not only are most of the important topics repeated throughout the year, but they are (generally speaking) recorded and made permanently available to you through WACHA’s Webinar Library. Although not interactive as the live webinars are, the sessions in the Webinar Library offer the same convenience . . . training when and where you need it. Click Here
- VIDEO RECORDED WEBCAST TRAINING
- WACHA now offers to its Members webcast training provided by another ACH association. In cooperation with WesPay, WACHA members will be allowed to view broadband, computer-based training (similar to WACHA’s Webinar Library) when and where you want it. A variety of training sessions will be offered and will fall into one of three categories; Introductory, Intermediate or Advanced. The pricing also allows you a choice . . . whether to view the training one time only, or up to five times. For more information Click Here
- In-person Training
- WACHA’s IN PERSON TRAINING
- Each quarter WACHA will offer some of our most popular courses as in-person training at various locations (including WACHA’s office) around the state. Although in-person training is much preferred by those who attend training, in today’s world, it’s not often possible or practical. Some courses, however, are best absorbed if the student and the instructor are face to face, and those are the ones we schedule for in-person training, although they are often repeated later as webinars.
- WACHA's On-Site Customized Training
- Even though a wide variety of training options is available to you from WACHA, it is still possible that our training curriculum does not meet your specific needs. In that case, you might want to consider WACHA’s on-site, customized training. We can provide training to you on any subject (or multiple subjects if you wish) whenever and wherever you want. Once the WACHA staff has determined which topic or topics you feel you need training on, and how long and how in-depth you’d like the training to be, we can develop the curriculum specifically addressing your needs. This type of training is ideal for your frontline or operations staff. View more.
- WACHA’s PAYMENTS UNIVERSITY
- WACHA’s Payments University provides concentrated in-depth payments training over two days and covers topics at two educational levels: Beginners and Advanced. By providing two educational levels, we allow the participant to learn what they need to know about payments at the level they can understand it! The beginners track provides an overview of the ACH System thoroughly reviewing the fundamentals of the ACH System, while the advanced track provides more in-depth content and moves the discussion into areas that only those individuals with more experience and knowledge can understand and appreciate. - WACHA’s COMPLIANCE UNIVERSITY
- One of the issues that seems the most challenging for WACHA’s members are compliance-related issues. Once each year (usually in the Fall), WACHA offers a full day session completely devoted to compliance issues including ACH rules and State and Federal requirements. This is one training opportunity to which you should seriously consider sending your compliance personnel and operations management.
- WACHA’s SPECIAL SUBJECT SYMPOSIUMS/WORKSHOPS
- On occasion topics resulting from new product offerings, new requirements, or new services may develop. When they do, WACHA will schedule a special in-person Symposium and bring in industry authorities to provide you with an in-depth education on that particular issue. Rest assured that if it’s a new payments product, service or issue, WACHA will bring you up-to-speed by offering a symposium or workshop on the subject sometime during the year.
